Project STRIVE is a DIVAS Mentoring Program scholarship initiative based on the organization’s third core value and tenet, “I always strive for academic excellence.”   The scholarship was established to assist graduating high school seniors with supplemental costs. Recipients have the flexibility to use the funds towards tuition, housing, textbooks or other academic study materials.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following to be eligible for the

Project Strive Scholarship:  

• An active member of DIVAS in good standing

• A graduating high school Senior

• Participation in at least 2 DIVAS service projects

• Attended at least 3 of 4 DIVAS sessions each month

Required Elements​

Applicants must submit all of the following to be

considered a candidate for the Project Strive Scholarship:  

• A completed Project STRIVE Scholarship Application

• Letter confirming acceptance to a two or four-year college or university

• A one-minute video that answers the question: “Why do you deserve to win the 2022 DIVAS Strive Scholarship?” 

• 250-word typed reflection statement: “How do you embody the 5 Core Values of DIVAS Mentoring Program?”

• One (1) community service confirmation letter from someone that can attest to your leadership and/or volunteerism skills

• One (1) Academic Letter of Recommendation from a teacher or counselor

Notes 

• Project STRIVE is a one-time, non-renewable scholarship.

• Scholarship award offers must be accepted or declined formally (in writing).

• All applications and associated materials must be submitted by the deadline indicated. Requests for extensions will NOT be granted. 

• ​Acceptable document formats for file uploads are PDF, JPEG, or Word document. 

• Please note that we recommend completing the application in one sitting at a computer and not on a phone or tablet. Be sure to gather all of your required documentation and other elements prior to proceeding with the completion of the official application form.
